Hello everyone. Thanks for stopping by. My name is Chase (not my real name, but it's the one I use online) and I'm just a 40-ish dude in the Pacific Northwest with his wonderful wife. I'm an anarcho lefty who likes Star Trek, a capella music, vaporwave, coffee, cartoons, walkable urbanism, retro and indie video games, and good friends. I made this site for fun. This intro blog entry is a reference for how to use this site. This site will probably not display properly on a phone. Sorry about that, but I wanted this to have the feel of an old-school site from back in the day. So it's likely only going to work on a computer or tablet.
This site will contain blogs, embedded videos from YouTube (most of which I'm planning to make hidden on YT itself), audio files and other fun things I feel like sharing. There's also a microblog where I can post Bluesky like messages that can only be read here, and can't be commented on! Mwa ha ha ha ha!
So, the thing I poured the most time into for this was making all of the assets for the different themes. You can use the buttons on the left side of your screen to switch out the theme on the fly. Play around with them. See which one you like most. You can use the two smaller buttons in the top left to go to the home page, which always shows the newest stuff, or to the main menu which lets you find entries by type. For the most part, that menu on the left will be visible on every page.
As of launching this, I only have two blog series planned. One is "Chasing Thoughts" which is where I'll throw stuff that doesn't really fit in a category (like this post you're reading!) and "Do it Rockapella" which is about Rockapella's discography because I'm a fan and I don't think anyone else has done that yet. Don't count on updates being super consistant. It's an as-I-get-to-them kind of arrangement.
Right now, I only have some videos of screen saver footage. I made add more of that in the future. I'm also planning to do a short-form video series called "SNEScapades" which will be about the SNES library (an offshoot of a podcast I used to host) but again, I'll get to them as I have time and energy to do so.
Audio just has my version of Rockapella's Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego theme song (I'm singing all of the parts) which I recorded for my old podcast and was a little too pround of to not put it somewhere. That section may be home to another podcast someday.
Collections is mostly a place for me to document scans of old comic cards I collected when I was a kid. They aren't anything super valuable to me, but I treasured them when I was young and want to show them off. I just think they're neat.
That's about all for now. I hope I can keep adding stuff to this site; more blogs, videos, card collections, maybe even a simple game or two. It's been nearly a year in the making as I prepare to launch it today as I write this and I'll try to keep stuff coming, but I don't want to promise too much. Enjoy!
